Basin Arts offers residency programs for artists of all disciplines. Our residencies provide a supportive environment for artists to create, experiment, and collaborate with other artists. Our goal is to foster creativity and community in the arts.

Basin Arts provides visual artist studio spaces for rent. These spaces range in size & price to accommodate artists in every stage of their practice.

ProjectSpace Residency

ProjectSpace Residency is a dynamic and evolving interdisciplinary artist residency program in Lafayette, Louisiana. The 2026 residency cycle will support TWO collaborative, artistic projects, providing professional artists from the Acadiana region with the structure, space, and support to create new work while deeply engaging the community in the creative process.
New to ProjectSpace Residency this year, Basin Arts will partner with the Hilliard Art Museum & UL-Lafayette, to provide selected projects and artists with a preliminary research and development phase in advance of their creation residency within the Basin Arts gallery. Through this residency model, we hope to widen the interpretation of art, encourage more community participation, support artistic research, and prioritize diverse viewpoints and experiences.
LINEAGE Award & Residency
Nominations for 2025-2026 Honorees are Closed
LINEAGE Award honorees are the "artists among us" who have contributed a lifetime’s worth of creativity to the Acadiana region and beyond and who have laid the foundation for future artistic generations.
In addition to being honored at the LINEAGE Awards Gala, each selected artist will receive an honorarium and will collaborate with Basin Arts to develop a creative residency that supports their artistry and supports the sharing of their artistic knowledge with other artists in the region.
DanceLab Residency

Our DanceLab Residency is a process based residency supporting emerging to professional movement artists.

Ideas & materials are generated through community movement workshops, artist talks, advanced/professional dance classes & focused studio time.
