Basin Arts offers residency programs for artists of all disciplines. Our residencies provide a supportive environment for artists to create, experiment, and collaborate with other artists. Our goal is to foster creativity and community in the arts.

DanceLab Choreographer Residency

The Basin Arts DanceLab Choreographer Residency is a nine-week creative residency supporting emerging and established choreographers in the research, development, and presentation of new dance work in Acadiana. The residency provides dedicated time, rehearsal space, and production resources for artists to experiment, collaborate, and deepen their choreographic practice. All dance genres are encouraged to apply.
Selected choreographers receive up to 18 hours of rehearsal space at Basin Arts, two public performance opportunities on November 13 + 14, professional photography and videography documentation, and a $100 performance honorarium. The residency culminates in an intimate public showcase where artists may present works-in-progress or completed pieces.
2027 ProjectSpace Residency
2027 Studio Series | Applications Open
The 2027 Basin Arts ProjectSpace Residency will support two artists working side by side in separate, partially open studio spaces throughout January and February 2027. Each artist will receive a $500 stipend, studio space, guidance and research support, a curator studio visit, and opportunities to engage with the Basin Arts community. Work created during the residency will be exhibited at Basin Arts throughout March and April 2027.
