Basin Arts proudly begins its 10th year in 2025 in a new home at 126 South Buchanan Street — a 10,000-square-foot creative hub developed in partnership with the Lafayette Public Trust Financing Authority (LPTFA).This milestone marks a major step forward in our mission to connect, inspire, and support artists and audiences through creativity and collaboration.
Expanding Space. Expanding Impact.
With our move into this larger facility, Basin Arts is expanding both its capacity and its community reach. The new building offers:

Double the studio space for visual artists

A larger performance studio for dance and movement events accommodating up to 75 people

An additional dance studio with accessible rental rates for local movement artists and teachers

Expanded gallery space for visual art exhibitions, giving more artists a platform to show their work

A dedicated community classroom for youth and adult art education

More gathering areas for performances, workshops, and community-wide programs

Creative placemaking activations throughout the LPTFA campus and La Place neighborhood, strengthening cultural connections across Downtown Lafayette
