Basin Arts offers residency programs for artists of all disciplines. Our residencies provide a supportive environment for artists to create, experiment, and collaborate with other artists. Our goal is to foster creativity and community in the arts.

2027 ProjectSpace Residency
2027 Studio Series | Applications Open
The 2027 Basin Arts ProjectSpace Residency will support two artists through a new Studio Series format. Throughout January and February 2027, each artist will work in a separate, partially open 12’ x 12’ studio space within the Basin Arts gallery, developing their individual practices side by side. Each artist will receive a $500 stipend, guidance and research support, a studio visit with a local curator, access to movement classes and basic tools, and opportunities to engage with the community. Work created during the residency will be exhibited at Basin Arts throughout March and April 2027.
Artists outside of the Acadiana region are welcome to apply, though housing cannot be provided. Applications close September 28, 2026. An applicant info session will be held September 16 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, and applicants will be notified by October 16.
DanceLab Choreographer Residency

Basin Arts is seeking emerging and established choreographers for the Fall 2026 DanceLab Choreographer Residency, a nine-week creative residency supporting the research, development, and presentation of new dance work in Acadiana.
Selected choreographers receive up to 18 hours of rehearsal space at Basin Arts, two public performance opportunities, professional photo and video documentation, and a $100 performance honorarium. All dance genres are encouraged to apply.

Creating greater access to creative workspaces in Acadiana and opening doors to new opportunities for collaboration and growth.
