Acrylic Portrait Painting Class
Monday’s 6:00-8:00pm with Jaik Faulk
4 week session: Sept. 17th-Oct. 8th
$180
An acrylic painting class suggested for painters who have some previous experience in acrylics. If you’ve always wanted to paint a certain someone, or anyone in particular this is the class for you. We will work from a live model as well as from photo references in these four sessions. Students will be guided through the process of composing and rendering the figure in portrait form on canvas in acrylic paint. Instruction will be given on observing and painting facial features as well as the mixing of paint, brush usage and other painterly skills. As mentioned previous experience in acrylics and/or drawing is recommended but not required.
Fantastic Landscapes 4 week Acrylic Painting Workshop October 22nd – November 12th Mondays 6:00-8:00pm $180 (all supplies included)
Fantastic Landscapes is a 4 week acrylic painting workshop focused on using acrylic paint to paint landscapes. We will make paintings of faraway and local places by photo reference. Methods of rendering from photographs, gridding for compositional arrangement and color mixing will be explored. We shall be using acrylic paints during this class, this is will act as an introduction to using this medium and we will explore various methods of paint mixing and application. No experience in painting or drawing is necessary.
Acrylic for Beginners Class with Dirk Guidry Tuesday’s 6:00-8:00pm 4 week session: Sept. 4th-25th $180 (Supplies included)
Dirk Guidry will guide you through a four-week process to learn the basics about painting with acrylic paints. In these sessions, you will learn application techniques with different tools and how to understand and use color. The Basic Elements and Principles of Art will be shared through painting exercises and you will get to select the subject matter of what you’d like to paint in the second half of the course.
Youth Drawing Class with Ben Koch Age 9-13 youth Tuesday’s 4:30-6:00pm October 2nd – 30th $125
Drawing is a fundamental force in art that exposes the significant relationship we have with our eyes and our hands. There is a specific energy, time and information in every mark we make. In five classes, kids will learn the techniques and tools of mark making by observational still life and human figure drawing. The classes will also focus on practicing perspective and seeing scale appropriate to age-level. Plus, it will be fun!
Adult Drawing Class with Ben Koch Age 14+ adult Tuesday’s 6:30-8:00pm October 2nd – 30th $125

Papermaking Workshop with Ben Koch Wednesday’s, September 12th – 26th Time: 6-8pm Age 14+ $75
Paper survives as a medium of artistic expression. Before paper was made by machinery, it was created by hand. In three workshops, you will learn the methods and materials used to make handmade paper. The workshops will also focus on recycling, reusing, and reducing paper waste by creating from all ready-made paper products. Whether for writing, printing, packaging, etc., each recycled paper is made by you!
Teen Art Workshop with Ben Koch Saturday’s September 8th – October 13th 2pm to 3:30pm Age 12-17 $150
This class is intended for teen artists who need the time and space to make outside the school classroom and home. In six classes, teens will learn advancements in the elements and principles of art through different concentrations of visual arts. The classes will also focus on art history, criticism and creativity in a collaborative studio environment.

This class is intended for young artists who need the time and space to make outside the school classroom and home. In four classes, kids will learn advancements in the elements and principles of art through different concentrations of visual arts. The classes will also focus on art history, criticism and creativity in a collaborative studio environment.
SaturdayCraft Classes September 15, October 6th, November 3rd, December 1st 9:00-11:30 Age 14+
$30 for one class OR $100 for the 4 class series
The arts and crafts movement inspires us to do it ourselves with our own unique hands. Artisanal handicrafts come in a wide range of activities and objects with impressive details and skill. In four classes people will practice weaving textiles, painting ceramics, using paper and making jewelry. This class will also focus on design, aesthetics, and community.
Sunday Social Collage with Ben Guidry September 16, October 21st, November 18th 6:00-8:00pm Age 17+
$25 for one class or $60 for the 3 class series
Students will be shown basic and intermediate concepts in composition as it pertains to collage and mixed media material. Students will then create a mixed media collage using color, contrast, and variety in materials to convey contemporary or historical social issues.
Though helpful — No prior painting or drawing experience is needed.
