Introducing Kelsey LeAnn

Kelsey LeAnn is a multidisciplinary creative, photographer, and graphic designer based in Lafayette, LA. She’s the co-founder of casuallyKreative, a community-centered brand that celebrates life as art, capturing authentic moments, amplifying everyday beauty, and helping others reconnect with their own creativity.

Through casuallyKreative, Kelsey uses in-the-moment photography and intentional design to spark reflection, connection, and empowerment. Whether she’s behind the lens or creating visuals that tell a story, her focus is always on capturing what’s real…the honest, fleeting moments that often go unseen.

Kelsey approaches every creative project with vision and intuition. Her work lives at the intersection of emotion and storytelling. Where color, composition, and space aren’t just design choices, but tools to move people. From branding to gallery installations to mundane life, she creates with the intention to make others notice and feel.

Her work reflects a simple truth: artistry isn’t reserved for the “professionals.” It lives in everyone. And she’s here to remind people of that. One raw photo, one intentional design, one beautiful moment at a time. Website coming soon.

Who makes up your art circle?

My art circle is made up of people who approach life with curiosity and presence. People who may not even call themselves artists, but live creatively every day. It’s the ones who slow down enough to notice beauty in the ordinary, who reflect, explore, celebrate the little things, and express themselves in their own way.

At the core are collaborators like my partner, candice leigh, whose writing brings soul and added depth to the moments I capture. But it also includes anyone willing to see their life as a canvas; friends, strangers, fellow dreamers, even the people we meet in passing. If you value connection, creativity, and authenticity… you’re already in the circle.

How do you expand your art circle?

By showing up with an open mind and letting life lead the way. My art circle expands every time I follow a spark of intuition, explore a new space, or capture a moment that feels real.

I’ve learned that building a creative circle isn’t always about networking in the traditional sense. Sometimes it means sharing resources, sometimes it’s just being there to witness and celebrate someone else’s art. Creativity is a bridge. When people feel seen, supported, and/or inspired, that connection deepens. That’s how the art circle keeps expanding. The more I put myself in spaces where creativity and community intersect, the more my circle grows.

What value do you see in having a creative community?

A creative community reminds you that you’re not alone in the way you see and feel the world. It becomes a space where vulnerability is welcomed, expression is encouraged, and inspiration is constantly exchanged.

When people feel safe to be themselves, that’s when art gets real. That’s when it moves you. casuallyKreative’s mission is about reminding people that artistry isn’t limited to paintbrushes and canvases, it’s found in every interaction, every small detail, every lived experience. Being surrounded by others who believe that too? That’s fuel. That’s what truly keeps the spark alive.

The absence of that…of people who GET you, who see the beauty in the things you notice, who understand the urge to create just because you feel something, is isolating. Having a creative community offers a beam of light in the darkest of days. It reminds you of your why. It reflects your vision back to you when you forget. It grounds you and inspires you, sometimes in the same breath. To be in community with other artists, dreamers, and deep-feelers is vital.

How does your artistic approach contribute to your community?

My approach is less about creating art, and more about revealing it. I aim to capture the quiet, fleeting moments, the unscripted ones that show us who we really are. That philosophy allows people to feel seen without being posed, to feel valued without needing to perform.

I believe in the power of everyday artistry. The kind you find in shared laughter, silent reflection, or spontaneous connection. When those moments are reflected back through photography, writing, or design, people begin to recognize the beauty that’s already present in their lives.

That’s what it means to be casuallyKreative; to notice the magic in the ordinary, to live with presence, and to let creativity casually weave itself into the small, sacred parts of everyday life. When one person begins to approach life this way, it has a ripple effect. It inspires others to slow down, to see differently, and to celebrate the art of simply being.

Our weekly Art Circle series profiles artists throughout the community and is sponsored in part by Lafayette Visitor Enterprise Fund managed by Lafayette Travel
