Who makes up your art circle?
My art circle is made up of the people who inspire my storytelling, the communities I’ve lived in, the faces I photograph, and the culture I carry from St. Croix, Virgin Islands.
How do you expand your art circle?
Through Collaboration & Sharing. Whether through photography sessions, DIY projects, video storytelling, or stilt dancing, I expand by sharing. Collaboration becomes a bridge, allowing me to connect with artists from diverse backgrounds.
What value do you see in having a creative community?
A creative community is valuable to me because it reflects how I naturally move through the world: connecting with people, listening to their stories, and finding beauty everywhere I go. Creating alongside others gives me life, energy, and a broader perspective.
How does your artistic approach contribute to your community?
My artistic approach contributes to my community by centering the people within it. Whether I’m photographing someone, capturing a moment on video, designing a space, or sharing my Caribbean heritage through stilt walking, I aim to make others feel seen and celebrated. In Lafayette, that shows up through my work at Fightingville Fresh, where I help amplify the work of farmers, small business owners, and creatives who sustain the community.
Our weekly Art Circle series profiles artists throughout the community and is sponsored in part by Lafayette Visitor Enterprise Fund, managed by Lafayette Travel
